I went to the amusements and arcade in Little Hampton and had a whale of the time. The only thing that I kind of hated was this very annoying 30-something man that felt the need to come up to me and complain about how the penny-pushers in the arcade are scams, and that I shouldn't be wasting money on them.
Yes, I'm very aware they're basically a scam. You put £5 quid in, if you're lucky you get £1 out... which goes straight back in the machine. And if you're really lucky you get a plastic keychain or a little kids toy. It's just the fun of the amusements though- going through the machines and winning tickets. People aren't there to be complained at randomly, they're there to have fun.
Do any of you have some cracking unsolicited comments to share?
EDIT: There are a lot of common ones in here that are just awful. I'm gonna list some of them:
- comments about gaining weight / losing weight
- comments about dads taking care of their children and assuming they're "babysitting"
- "Cheer up, it might never happen"
- Varying remarks saying "You should smile more"
- "You look tired"

Why do you believe it’s something that needs to be cured?
For the record, asexuality has been struck from the DSM. It’s not a mental illness and is no longer treated as a disorder.
If we want to look at whether something should be “researched to treat”, then we should probably ask the group of people in question. The vast majority of asexual people are happy with being asexual. You can’t “cure” being asexual because there’s nothing wrong there to begin with. If you asked about research on why asexual people exist, that would be a different matter.
Similar to trans people. We’ve found that the most effective treatment for the gender dysphoria / distress that trans people experience due to their identity is gender affirming healthcare. So transitioning is remedy in this case.
