The best thing to help your progress as a player is to get some private lessons. A teacher can observe your embouchure and technique and help you correct any bad habits. A teacher can also play your horn to determine if you have an equipment issue. Long story short, a teacher can help you get unstuck. The horn probably isn’t the problem.

You’re good. (Normally I like trolling these attention-seeking posts, but I like your face.)

I recently sold two saxes to one of these shops. It was better than trying to find a buyer myself, but I was really surprised at the comparison of the price I received as a seller and the price the shop advertised the horns to retail buyers. I agree dealers need to make profits, but it was a little jarring to be told every possible flaw in my Mark VI alto and then to see it sold with no reference to those flaws and a price so significantly higher than the price he paid me.
So if you sell to a dealer, just be prepared that you might see the dealer make more profit than you might expect.

I agree that the Bagginses must have been landlords. I took a lot of insights into how the Shire economy probably worked from watching Downton Abbey of all things. The wealthy landowners collect rent from tenant farmers who are unable to concentrate enough capital to purchase their land outright. And as long as the landlords aren’t too greedy and the weather is good, everyone can have a decent life. It would be curious to know how the aristocratic hobbits felt about Sam taking over the entire Baggins estate and then setting up in the Westmarch. While the Tooks and Brandybucks would not likely cause trouble, I’d be concerned about the Boffins, Bolgers, Bracegirdles, and Proudfoots. (Proudfeet!)

Passenger princesses are not something anyone needs. It’s more of a “want” thing, and secure, successful people don’t want them.

I love the Silmarillion also, but I don’t find it grim. (Most of) the Noldor ignore the Valar and the promised consequences ensue. While the exiles are suffering in their multitudes, it’s not so bad for Finarfin. There’s a lesson there. When the Valar strongly urge you to change your plans, maybe listen to them.
