I am relatively new to the world of classical music, so my apologies if this seems like a silly question.
I don't know much about famous conductors so I was looking up some of the conductors of famous orchestras. I saw that Gustavo Dudamel is the musical director of the LA Phil, the Paris Opera, and the Simón Bolívar Symphonic Orchestra, all of which are at least a 10 hours flight away from each other, if not more. Additionally, Klaus Mäkelä works in Oslo, Paris, and Amsterdam. How do they and others work across continents?
